This castor with a spring is specially designed for library step stools or ladders. Thanks to its built-in spring, when you put weight on your support, the mount will lower by 22 mm and stabilize your support.
For example, if you install these castors at the feet of a ladder, you will be able to roll it to move it, and then when you set up on it, the spring will allow the feet of the ladder to touch the ground and thus stop rolling. This model can also be used for side mounting to relieve a gate or closet door. The spring will have a damping effect when handling your gate by absorbing the irregularities of the ground.
The mounting plate measures 60x50 mm, the vertical center distance is 22 mm between each mounting hole, and the horizontal center distance is 39 mm.
The total height of this castor is 155 mm, and the spring amplitude is 20 mm for a pressure of 19.6 kg. To reach half the maximum amplitude (10 mm), a force of 9.3 kg must be applied.
The wheel has a diameter of 50 mm, and the coating material is rubber, which allows for quiet and non-staining movement.
The unit load of these castors is 30 kg, or 90 kg for 4 castors (we always calculate on 3 points for safety).
If the direction of the castor does not suit your usage, it can be turned one notch by removing the clip on the top of the square rod.
The compression spring has gaps between the coils when it is not loaded. The distance between the coils decreases when the spring is loaded and compressed. In principle, a compression spring should never be compressed to the point where the coils touch each other. Its lifespan would be significantly shortened. The ideal solution is to use 60% of the maximum force and maximum travel. A compression spring should never serve as a physical stop.
