This is the maximum version of the castor for shipping containers, there is none stronger on the market!
This one has been tested by our team with a material break simulation software under a load of 10 tons on a perfectly smooth surface, without obstacles or stones.
The mount is 20 mm thick, which is slightly too thick, but it doesn't matter, it needs to hold up. Our other ranges are designed with a thickness of 10 mm, for comparison. The plate is also 20 mm, with welded lateral reinforcements.
So you can technically load 30 tons on 4 castors (we divide by 3 because there are always only 3 contact points out of 4). We recommend loading only 25 tons, in case you have an uneven distribution of the load inside your container.
Installation is easy, just lift the container using a forklift (handling should be done empty) and place each castor in the ISO 1161 corner. Then you need to bolt it using the provided rod. A spacer plate is included and fits perfectly into the ISO corner hole.
The blue wheel is made of solid nylon PA6, which helps prevent static crushing over the long term.
Be careful with outdoor paved parking lots in the summer, as you can puncture your surface. Always check before moving such loads that your surface can handle this type of load and that the concrete slab is thick enough. We are not responsible for the use of the product.
The large diameter facilitates rolling, but the hardness of the wheel does not allow for overcoming potholes or large obstacles over 5 mm in height without affecting the total allowable load. Ensure your surface is clean and well-swept. Please consult us before making any purchase.
Each castor has a locking mechanism every 90 degrees to allow each unit to be transformed into a castor fixed, to prevent the container from shifting from the rear.
See this page for our tutorial on how to place a container on castors!
You can see a brief video clip for the screw fixation which is much stronger than the lever.
